While we are at the start of the Ebook technology, there
is a lot of confusions going around. Almost any electronic
text, whether compiled or not, encrypted, etc... is named
falsely "ebook", though it is only the electonic text of
a book. Download our ebook
reader and compare by yourself. In between
the TEXT and the BOOK, there is the invention of
Gutenberg... So called E-books are simply
E-texts, a format that actually fits for letters and short
writings, but totally inadapted to books reading.
The equivalent of an etext is a paper roll,
while an e-book is meant to be a virtual representation of a
book. Therefore, an ebook reader is a software
that formats these unreadable e-texts into readable virtual
books (ebooks). Our ebook converter
imports-exports html, doc and txt documents into our ebook
reader specific format. Additionally, to
edit/adjust/fine tune fonts, paragraphs, insert/embed
images, sounds into texts, EbookEdit is
needed.

As a counterpart, these beta versions are generally free or
highly discounted, and beta testers are provided with a free
final release.
